Multiplex Easyglider Topspeed
Last weekend there was quite a strong wind and I decided to test the possible topspeed of the Easyglider. I putted my Garmin E-Trex on the top of the Easyglider (not perfect in aerodynamic view). The power comes from an Multiplex Permax 480 Brushless engine with a 4000mAh lithium polymer battery at 11.1V.
I started against the wind with lot of power - the additional weight (200g) was not a big deal. Only the aileron was a bit more instable (the weight was at the top of the plane).
After being high up in the sky I turned around and went down at full power with the direction of wind. At full speed it was not possible to control the plane anymore - no reaction on the elevator, rudder and aileron. Only after reducing to engine power to slow down the plane the control returned.
Result of Topspeed measurement: 112km/h.
