E-Zilla with Traxxas Revo Driveshafts

I allready made many modifications to the E-Zilla driveshafts, and the differential. I replaced the differential gears with the E-Maxx gears, so I have allready a 6mm shaft.

Now, the next step was to test - Traxxas Revo driveshafts.

There where only two difficulties:

  1. The driveshafts are much thicker
  2. The cross-joints are bigger

The second problem was the bigger one. With the original E-Zilla axes the cross joints hit the lower shaft of the c-hub. Thats why I modified the original Traxxas Revo driveshaft.

I mounted the axle in my big drill, (as I have no lathe at home) and used my small drill to reduce the diameter as long as it fitted the inner ball bearing.

The outer hull of the driveshaft has to be shortend to 40mm otherwise it would touch the shock mounts. The shock mounts also have to be reduced by 0.2-0.3 mm, just as much as that the inner part of the driveshaft fits in between.

Thats it, ready to be mounted. We will testdrive them as soon as possible and post the results.
