Revell Heinkel HE-70
My boy Benni (6 years old) asked me to paint one of my Revell models with the airbrush. As I was not willing to let him paint my models, I told him to select a model of Revell for himself in the shop.
He has chosen a speed plane model from 1933 - the He-70 on of the fastest German airplanes that time. The airspeed was 362km/h. Lufthansa started the so called "Blitz-Dienst" between German main cities like Berlin, Frankfurt/Main, Hamburg and Köln.
The quality of this small Revell kit was not as high as I knew from the bigger kits - many parts needed additional work - which I didn't do, as my plan was to let Benni do as much as possible.
He was allowed to cut out the pieces himself - only the cleaning with the sharp knife was done by myself. He really tried to concentrate hard - specially with the painting of the very little parts. He also glued the parts togehter, thats why they do not fit perfect - but for his first model it was quite good. He did a great job. Of course I helped him out with difficult parts - so that he wouldn't lose the fun in building models. I am sure the next model will be even more fun for him.
