Picasa - Management for your digital pictures

Nowadays nearly everybody owns a digital camera - creating hundreds and thousands of pictures. But how can you manage them easily?

I have allready tested some tool available on the free market and found finally Picasa of Google. The software is free to use but impressive powerful. I manage allready around 15000 Pictures (18 GB) and its still working great and fast.

The management itself is easy to do. You can drag pictures from one folder to another, delete, rename, coyp pictures. All changes are made also directly to the file system. For beginners it delivers a bunch of different easy to use correction programs - red eyes, light, color etc. These changes are not stored in the pictures - Picasa only stores how to recalculate the picture for preview.

I also like the different export options. You can easily create gift cd roms, web exports, copies for emails etc.

Those of you who are not happy with their current solution should have a look to this nice tool.

Finally I was currious where Google Picasa stores all this previews labels etc. These informations are hidden in database at \Documents and settings\username\Lokale Einstellungen\Application data\Google\Picasa2.

I mirrow all my pictures and the picasa database on an external hard drive. So, its easy to set it up again easily.
